Banff Pavilion - Certified Low Energy Building Featured in Rocky Mountain Outlook!
Recently, the official certification plaque, designating the Banff Pavilion as a Certified Low Energy Building, arrived all the way from the Passive House Institute in Germany! We are so excited for this to be displayed in the Pavilion to help educate the public on the importance of energy efficient design and construction and on the methods we have of achieving it.
The Rocky Mountain Outlook also just published an article about the Pavilion, highlighting that it is by far the most energy efficient building built by the Town of Banff. In the words of Town of Banff Manager of Environment Michael Hay, “The pavilion clearly shows that busy public buildings can be beautiful and functional, while also being exceptionally energy efficient, when supported by effective policy direction.” We couldn’t agree more! The Town of Banff is a trailblazer in the sphere of sustainable construction, and we are proud to have been given the opportunity to deliver this innovative demonstration project from design to construction.
Now, a year after the building opened to the public, we return as users and have the joy of seeing this building serve the public (and the environment) for years to come.
