Barndominium in the Prairies Design Project

Prairie Style Barndominum

Inspired by the surrounding prairie landscapes and a contemporary interpretation of prairie style, this barndominium is designed to bring in abundant natural light and provide generous, open spaces for family gathering.

A PHPP (Passive House Planning Package) assessment has been completed, with recommendations integrated to optimize overall energy performance. Further increases to wall assemblies and roof insulation are proposed to significantly reduce heat loss and improve long-term operational efficiency.

HSS provided the interior design and energy improvement recommendations for this new build, supporting a performance-driven approach to comfort and sustainability.
